The cultural summer in the Alpujarra region of Granada hosts a new edition of the Me Vuelves Lorca Festival in Laroles, part of the Nevada municipality. After a hiatus, the event returns to its usual format with a program focused on theater, music, and artist encounters, inspired by the Lorquian universe and contemporary creation.
From July 26 to August 13, the stone amphitheater of Laroles will be the main stage for open-air performances. The festival expands its activities with proposals spread across different areas of the municipality and brings back its artistic residency.
The full program includes nine shows. On July 26, it kicks off with 'Ninguna planta es de interior' by Merienda Dramática. On July 31, El Aedo Teatro presents 'Poeta (Perdido) en Nueva York'. On August 1, the concert 'Al Turāth' features Luna La Hara and Aimar Habibi. On August 2, La Belloch Teatro brings 'Casa-Miento (Boda sin sangre)'. On August 5, the artistic intervention LAVANDA premieres in the washhouses of Laroles, part of the artistic residency. On August 6, the residency continues in the washhouses of Mairena with another intervention, and 'Amor Oscuro [Sonetos]' by Viridiana is presented. On August 7, it's the turn of 'Yo Soy Azul' by La Chivata Teatro, followed on August 8 by 'Barro Rojo' by Javier Liñera. On August 9, Merienda Dramática presents 'No puedo dejar de lavar los platos'. The closing on August 13 is by 'Jamming Hits' from Jamming Compañía.
The LAVANDA artistic residency, in its fifth edition, is one of the highlighted projects. The company Merienda Dramática will collaborate with residents of Nevada to create a scenic intervention based on local memories and stories, to be presented on August 5 and 6.
The stone amphitheater of Laroles, built by the residents themselves, offers a unique open-air stage, considered one of the most distinctive in the province of Granada.
