The ongoing seismic activity in the province of Granada has caused damage to the Palacio de Deportes, preventing the Covirán Granada basketball team from training at its facilities. The magnitude of the tremors, particularly those in mid-August, led to uncertainty and the cancellation of several training days.
After a brief pause, the team has resumed its pre-season preparation, albeit away from their usual arena. The pre-season, which began on August 14th, has required logistical adjustments, utilizing both the Estadio de la Juventud and the pabellón Veleta.
The Zaidín pavilion has structural damage that makes it unsafe for use. This situation has also necessitated a change of venue for the first match of the Copa Andalucía, where Covirán Granada will face Coto Córdoba this Wednesday.
Currently, the team is training at the pabellón Veleta, a situation that will continue until the necessary repairs are made at the Palacio de Deportes. There is no estimated date for their return. The next pre-season game is scheduled for September 2nd against Caja 87 at the Zaidín pavilion.
