The Costa Tropical in Granada has been recognized by the British newspaper The Times, which has featured two of its beaches in its selection of Spain's most outstanding shores.

The prestigious British newspaper The Times has compiled a list of the most recommendable beaches in Spain, and the Costa Tropical of Granada has received a double commendation. Of the six Andalusian beaches selected, two are located on the Granada coastline, with one of them topping the ranking for the entire autonomous community.
The ranking focuses on locations that stand out for their landscape, water quality, and surrounding environment. These factors annually solidify the Andalusian coast as a preferred destination for both national and international travelers.
El Tesorillo beach, located in Almuñécar, has been rated the best in Andalusia. This small stretch of sand on the Costa Tropical is noted for its calm waters, family-friendly atmosphere, and a wide range of services, making it a very comfortable option for a day by the sea. The newspaper also highlights the surrounding landscape and the panoramic views towards the Granada coast.
The second Granada beach mentioned is Cantarriján, also within the municipality of Almuñécar. Situated in the natural park of Maro-Cerro Gordo Cliffs, it is a unique spot on the Andalusian coast. Its clear waters, virtually pristine environment, and historical association with naturism have made it one of the province's most well-known coves.
The presence of these two locations underscores the tourist appeal of the Granada coastline. Unlike other more crowded areas, the Costa Tropical is gaining prominence thanks to the diversity of its beaches, the quality of its waters, and a landscape that combines cliffs, coves, and extensive sandy areas. Recognition from an international publication like The Times provides a new showcase for this coast, which attracts thousands of visitors each summer.
