Fundación Unicaja has backed the expansion and improvement of Upacesur's carpentry workshop in Jerez, a key initiative for the social inclusion and employability of people with disabilities. The aid, granted through the institution's social action call, will allow for the upgrade of equipment and the expansion of the project's reach.
Thanks to this collaboration, digital tools and technological equipment have been acquired to optimize production processes, diversify product offerings, and enhance the quality of work. The goal is to foster personal, social, digital, and labor skills in the workshop's current 52 users.
The project will also extend to the Occupational Center in Trebujena, where workshop activities will be implemented to provide new training and pre-employment opportunities for its users. This expansion aims to broaden the initiative's scope and reinforce both entities' commitment to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.
Upacesur, a non-governmental organization founded in the seventies and led by parents of people with multiple disabilities, currently serves 1,128 families and employs 275 professionals, 120 of whom have disabilities.
