The Motril council emphasized the consolidation of Motril as a coastal benchmark, thanks to a firm commitment to the recreational and quality development of its coastal environment.
The program “Alégrate el verano en Motril” (Make Motril's Summer Happy), now in its third year, provided over a hundred activities for all ages, promoting outdoor physical activity and culture. Summer cinema and sports and music sessions were particularly popular.
Regarding security, a significant operation was implemented involving all local and state security forces, alongside an enhanced lifeguard service. Over 650 security interventions were carried out, including 400 medical assists, 97% of which were resolved at the on-site facilities. No serious incidents were reported.
Special emphasis was placed on improving assisted bathing and shaded areas, with over 200 assisted baths and 101 reservations, reaffirming the commitment to beach accessibility and inclusivity.
Preventive tasks by the rescue service, with over 140 interventions, informed users about nautical lanes, flags, and sea conditions, contributing to overall safety.
Deputy Mayor José Peña thanked the employees' work and the involvement of Mayor Luisa García Chamorro, underscoring the ongoing commitment to keeping Motril's beaches at the forefront of Andalusian offerings.
