The 'Teresa' Cactus and Succulent Collection-Garden, located in Motril, has announced an extension of its opening hours to facilitate visits during weekends. This space, which houses more than 1,100 different species, has become a growing point of interest for both residents and tourists.
The councilor responsible for Parks and Gardens, Daniel Ortega, reported that the expansion responds to the success and increasing public interest. The garden, considered unique in Europe for its diverse collection concept, aims to be a mandatory stop in the city.
Starting next Saturday, September 5, the garden will open its doors on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekend hours will vary by season: in summer, Saturdays will be from 10:00 to 13:30 and from 18:00 to 20:30, and Sundays from 10:00 to 13:30. Autumn, winter, and spring hours have also been detailed, maintaining Sunday morning openings.
Daniel Ortega emphasized the intention to make the garden a more accessible space for local residents, many of whom are unaware of this 'great jewel' located in the Parque de los Pueblos de América. The modification aims to increase opportunities to discover and enjoy the beauty of this unique landscape.
The garden is continuously expanding, with plans for a third phase. The Parks and Gardens department is working to ensure it remains a unique place to discover, learn, and enjoy the world of cacti and succulents, reminding visitors that entry is free and access is open.
