The Councilor for Finance, Juan Carlos Morejón, has presented a balance of the Manilva City Council's accounts, detailing the debt's evolution since he took office in 2023. According to the head of the department, the initial debt amounted to approximately 19 million euros, of which 17.5 million were for outstanding payments to the Tax Agency and Social Security, plus 1.5 million in already amortized penalties. It is projected that by the end of the term, this debt will be reduced to around 14,250,000 euros.
The municipal institution continues to meet its financial obligations, including the payment of several court rulings totaling 1.5 million euros to families affected by expropriation proceedings at the entrance to the town of Manilva.
The councilor highlighted that the accounts are sound and that the municipal coffers currently hold 7 million euros. Furthermore, work is underway on the new 2027 budget, which projects new and significant investments.
Morejón described the balance as "more than positive" and took the opportunity to congratulate and thank the Finance team for their daily work.
