The San Francisco de Asís sports pavilion in Torremolinos will be equipped with a parquet floor, a substantial improvement that will expand sports practice opportunities in the town. This new flooring will accommodate disciplines such as skating, futsal, and basketball, as well as others like judo or rhythmic gymnastics.
This initiative complements the existing sports infrastructure in Torremolinos, which already serves thousands of members from local clubs and schools for their training and competitions. The new covered space aims to offer enhanced features and versatility.
The flooring will be made of solid wood and will include advanced technical features, such as a vapor barrier, elastic and batten system, and a joint system with hidden fixings. Additionally, court lines will be marked to adapt it for various sports.
The Torremolinos City Council has initiated the tender process for the supply and installation of this sports flooring, with a budget of €123,831 (VAT included). The deadline for submitting offers is August 17th at 11:59 PM.
It is worth noting that in October 2023, the Junta de Andalucía transferred ownership of the San Francisco de Asís sports pavilion and its adjacent court, previously part of the youth center of the same name, to the Torremolinos City Council. Following adaptation and conditioning for public use, the complex is being established as a community sports facility.
