The Marbella council announced the opening of these 51 spaces, with ongoing work to bring the total to 110 units. The parking spots in this initial phase are arranged in-line along both sides of the connecting roads between Maíz Viñals Avenue and the Guardia Civil roundabout.
The councilor responsible for the area, Diego López, explained that the aim is to create approximately 60 additional spaces to reach the total of 110, addressing the need for parking for both residents and visitors in this part of the urban center. The work also involved sidewalk remodeling, new curbs and paving, and the installation of lighting.
López recalled that this initiative complements previous improvements made to the Cristo del Amor bridge itself, which included replacing expansion joints, updating an old metal plate, and resurfacing the roadway, thereby enhancing the structure's safety and aesthetics.
