Torremolinos' Romería Attracts Over 200,000 People
The event marks the start of the San Miguel patron saint festivities, which will run until Tuesday, September 29.

Torremolinos yesterday gathered more than 200,000 people for the traditional San Miguel romería, an event that kicks off the patron saint festivities.
The day began at 9 a.m. with mass and the blessing of pilgrims at the hermitage. Subsequently, the image of the patron saint was moved to Avenida de los Manantiales for the gathering of carts and the celebration of Holy Mass. At 10:30 a.m., the procession departed towards the Pinar de los Manantiales, traveling through various city streets.
The mayor, Margarita del Cid, highlighted the importance of this pilgrimage as a moment of togetherness and thanked the organization for their work in ensuring the harmonious development of the event, which included 54 carts.
Del Cid also emphasized the institutional collaboration with the Málaga Local Police on horseback, which led the procession, underscoring the effectiveness of this cooperation.

The San Miguel Fair will officially begin on Friday, September 25, with the opening speech by the Gómez Quesada family, and will extend until Tuesday, September 29, the day of Torremolinos' patron saint.
