The mayor of Mijas, Ana Mata, accompanied by the Councilor for Festivals, Silvia Marín, has officially unveiled the poster and program for the upcoming La Cala Fair. This year, the central figure on the poster is Claudia Mendo, with an image captured along the Senda Litoral.
The festivities will commence on July 21 with the opening speech at 9:00 PM, followed by the lighting of the artistic illumination of the fairgrounds at 10:30 PM. That day, coinciding with Children's Day, attractions will have reduced prices. The opening night will feature a performance by the group Mecamela, a tribute to Camela.
July 22 will be dedicated to seniors with a tribute dinner where the Fair's Grandfather and Grandmother will be honored. The night will conclude with a concert by Mujeres por Sevillanas, featuring performances by María de La Colina, Las Soles, and Las Carlotas starting at 11:30 PM.
July 23 will be for the youngest attendees, with a draw for the Children's King and Queen among those previously registered. The day will include a children's show by Las Guerreras del K-Pop at 9:30 PM and the 80s and 90s Fiesta Playstar at 11:00 PM.
On Friday, July 24, the Daytime Fair will open at El Torreón de La Cala at 2:00 PM, offering a bar, live music, and play areas until 7:00 PM. In the evening, at 10:30 PM, Malamanera will perform, followed by Nancys Rubias at midnight.
On July 25, the Daytime Fair will continue. Starting at 8:00 PM, there will be a horse parade departing from El Chaparral school. The evening performances will be by Las Rodes and Sergio Contreras.
The fair will conclude on July 26 with a water party at 12:00 PM and the continuation of the Daytime Fair. The musical closing act at 11:00 PM will be Melody on the municipal stage.
