The competition, organized by the Fuengirola City Open Sea Fishing Association in collaboration with the Fuengirola City Council and the Málaga Provincial Council, expects participants from across Andalusia and the national territory. Catches obtained during the championship will be donated to charitable organizations, thus maintaining a tradition of solidarity.
The Councilor for Sports, Julio Rodríguez, highlighted the event's consolidation in the city's sports calendar, emphasizing Fuengirola's excellent conditions for hosting nautical sports competitions. He thanked the organizing association for their work and the event's charitable nature.
For his part, the provincial sports deputy, Juan Rosas, reaffirmed the Málaga Provincial Council's support for an event that continues to grow, recalling that in previous editions, approximately 800 kilos of catches were donated to social entities.
Plácido Antequera, president of the Fuengirola City Open Sea Fishing Association, expressed his hope that sea conditions will be favorable for a high-level championship, with participants from various parts of the Andalusian coast.
The championship program includes the reception of boats and a welcome reception on Thursday, September 10th. Fishing days will be on Friday, September 11th, and Saturday, September 12th, with departures at 8:00 AM and returns to port at 7:00 PM. The event will conclude on Sunday, September 13th, with a lunch and awards ceremony at the Las Palmeras hotel.
