The Estepona City Council is advancing the works on the future boulevard, located at the confluence of San Lorenzo, Juan Carlos I, and España avenues. The work has concluded the channeling of buried networks, and the foundation for the underground parking has reached 75% completion.
The construction of the large boulevard, which began in January 2025, aims to merge the pedestrian zone with the Mediterranean, now one of the country's most prominent promenades after the transformation of the old N-340 road, with the city's historic center, known as the ‘Garden of the Costa del Sol’.
The Council has announced the completion of channeling for electricity, telecommunications, potable water, irrigation, and sanitation networks. Additionally, pedestrian traffic has been restored on San Lorenzo avenue and access via España avenue, reconnecting the east-west flow of the area.
Regarding the urbanization works on Juan Carlos I avenue, 60% has been executed, and connection tasks with perpendicular streets such as San Roque and Melilla have commenced.
Concerning the parking's foundation and structure, 75% of the work is complete, with completion scheduled for August. The intermediate slab is at 50%, and the roof is at 40%, with its conclusion expected in September.
The Estepona boulevard project includes an underground parking facility for over 300 vehicles, which will join the municipal network of parking at a cost of 1 euro per day for users. Externally, it will feature plazas, walkways, water features, and parks, alongside dedicated spaces for taxi stands, loading and unloading zones compatible with businesses, motorcycle parking, electric vehicles, and bicycle parking, promoting sustainable mobility.
This intervention is part of Estepona's model of a friendly, green city open to the sea, consolidating an urban transformation that has made it a national benchmark for the quality of its public spaces and its commitment to citizen well-being.
