The electoral campaign in Andalucía has taken an unexpected turn with a curious promise. A high-ranking official of the Popular Party, head of the list for Córdoba, has stated that he will shave his head if his party achieves a new absolute majority in the region, the second consecutive under the leadership of the current president.
This anecdote was revealed by the Andalusian president himself during an interview on Cadena Ser. When asked if he would repeat any symbolic promise, such as the tattoo he got in 2022 after obtaining 58 seats, the president dismissed the idea and preferred to highlight his secretary general's original wager.
“"He came up with the idea of saying he would shave his head: I recorded it, and he's terrified. I think he's the only one in the PP who doesn't want an absolute majority."
The president joked about the situation, claiming to have proof of the promise and suggesting that the Córdoba leader might be the only party member who doesn't wish for an absolute majority, given the personal implication of his bet. This has added a touch of humor and anticipation to the final stretch of the campaign.
In addition to this peculiar promise, the president also referred to the cow Fadie, from the El Cruce livestock farm in Añora, which has become an electoral good luck charm after accompanying him in the 2018 and 2022 campaigns. He is expected to visit her again before election day.
