The initiative aims to develop digital tools that facilitate decision-making regarding the location, capacity, and collection frequency of containers, considering factors such as population density and consumption habits.
The Dicore project, funded by the Interreg VI-A Spain-Portugal program with a budget of 829,014 euros, seeks to go beyond current planning based on technical experience and general criteria, incorporating more variables and data.
An open web platform will be developed to design efficient collection networks, analyze the suitability of container placement and capacity, and simulate scenarios before implementing changes.
Córdoba will be one of the first territories to test this technology. The pilot project will begin in the neighborhoods of San Rafael de la Albaida, San Basilio, and Ciudad Jardín, selected for their different urban characteristics.
The president of Sadeco, Miguel Ruiz Madruga, highlighted that the project will enable more efficient waste management tailored to the specific needs of each area, improving daily life and the environment.
