The graffiti, which appeared last Saturday, was eliminated through 'meticulous' work by Sadeco's specialized service, ensuring the conservation of the statue, which holds 'great heritage value'.
Francisco Flores, a member of the graffiti removal service, explained that a translucent stripper was used on the affected pedestal, testing the product gradually to ensure it did not damage the stone. Subsequently, a shadow remover was employed to complete the graffiti's elimination.
Flores added that the material used was not excessively strong, which facilitated the cleaning as it did not penetrate deeply into the stone.

The president of Sadeco, councilor Miguel Ruiz Madruga, described the act as vandalism and thanked the specialized service for their work, noting that it is even more complicated in heritage sites.
Since its launch in October 2025, this service has treated an average of 400 square meters per month as part of Sadeco's 'Sustainable Districts Strategy,' aiming to improve residents' quality of life, keep the city clean, and protect public heritage.
