These fine particles, due to their small size, can penetrate deeply into the respiratory system.
Other measured parameters show lower concentrations: PM10 particles stand at 27.4 μg/m³, ozone (O₃) reaches 79 μg/m³, nitrogen dioxide (NO₂) registers 6 μg/m³, and sulfur dioxide (SO₂), 3 μg/m³.
The combination of smoke and haze has placed air quality in Córdoba at a moderate level, with PM2.5 particles being the main pollutant. The smoke manifests as a slight haze and a loss of sharpness on the horizon.
Given this situation, it is recommended that sensitive groups reduce physical exercise outdoors. It is also advised to keep windows closed, use masks outdoors for the most vulnerable individuals, and operate air purifiers indoors if available.
