Coto Córdoba CB is preparing for its debut in the Copa de Andalucía, a tournament that brings together the region's top basketball teams. The Palacio Municipal de Deportes de Vista Alegre in Córdoba will be the main venue, hosting the final on September 5th at 8:00 PM, solidifying the city as a hub for Andalusian basketball.
Before the final, the team led by Gonzalo Rodríguez Palmeiro must overcome a preliminary league. The format will pit the three Andalusian representatives in the Primera FEB against each other: the Córdoba team, Covirán Granada, and Insolac Caja 87. This phase will be played as a single round-robin in late August, during the preseason.
The preliminary phase schedule will kick off on August 26th in Granada with the match between Covirán Granada and Coto Córdoba CB. Four days later, on August 30th, Coto Córdoba CB will play at home against Insolac Caja 87. The phase will conclude on September 2nd in Granada with the game between Covirán Granada and the Seville-based team.
The top-ranked team from this triangular tournament will secure a direct spot in the final against Unicaja, the current champion and the region's dominant basketball force, which gains direct entry due to its ACB status.
The Málaga-based squad will defend its title in Córdoba, where the previous two finals were also held, with Unicaja victories. The presence of Coto Córdoba CB adds extra excitement to fill the stands again and watch the local team test its strength against the elite at the start of the season.
