The 'blanquiverde' entity, currently enjoying stability in the Liga Hypermotion, commemorates two years since its promotion to the silver category. That epic night at El Arcángel culminated a arduous journey that included several seasons in the defunct Segunda B and a year in Segunda RFEF before returning to professional football.
The promotion project, led by the arrival of Iván Ania to the bench and a group of high-level players, generated great expectations. However, the league start was uncertain, with three defeats in the first four matches placing the team near the relegation spots in the Group 2 of Primera Federación.
After an irregular start, the team strung together a streak of ten undefeated matches, propelling them to the top positions in the standings. Despite not achieving direct promotion, which Castellón eventually secured, the team prepared for a demanding playoff.
In the promotion phase, Córdoba CF overcame Ponferradina in a two-legged tie. The final against Barcelona Atlètic was decided at El Arcángel. After taking the lead in the first leg, the reserve team of the Catalan club equalized, but in the return leg, despite an early goal from the opponent, the Cordoban team came back with a brace from Alberto Toril, sealing the promotion.
Players such as captain Carlos Marín, Christian Carracedo, Albarrán, Isma Ruiz, and Adilson Mendes continue to be key figures in the current setup. Others, like the final's top scorer Alberto Toril, Simo, or Kike Márquez, embarked on new paths after that season.
