The controversy surrounding the organization of the Cosmopoetica 2026 festival continues to unfold after a complaint was filed by the company Espacio Tierra Creativa. This bidder alleges "irregularities" in the process, pointing to alleged instances of "documentary falsehood" by the entity proposed for the contract, Verbo Soluciones Culturales, in its presentation of authors.
Sources from the Culture Department of the Córdoba City Council have described the matter as "a technical issue" and confirmed the request for a report to "explain the issues raised by the person signing the document." It remains to be seen whether this process will halt the planned award.
Espacio Tierra Creativa is requesting the disqualification of the other company and a review of the scoring, questioning the "competence and training" of the technical evaluator. The document, signed by Estefanía Cabello, highlights a "disparity" in the subjective evaluation and focuses the complaint on the proposed authors such as Leonardo Padura and Siri Hustvedt, who, according to cited communications, were not contacted by the awarded company.
For their part, Pablo Téllez, director of Verbo Servicios Culturales, asserts that they have complied "at all times" with the tender specifications, confirming the authors' availability through their "agents in Spain" and the subsequent invitation letter.
Vox, through its councilwoman Marta León, has formally requested access to the complete expediente, demanding "absolute transparency" and "immediate explanations" from the municipal government to verify the legality of the process.
