The Brotherhood of the Good Death in Córdoba has organized a solidarity tapas event scheduled for July 30 in the courtyard of the Royal Collegiate Church of San Hipólito. The aim is to raise funds for on-site assistance in Venezuela, a country in urgent need of aid following a devastating double earthquake.
Arístides Bermejo, the brotherhood's Charity Deputy, explained that he is personally covering his travel and accommodation costs to volunteer in La Guaira, a zero-ground area in Venezuela. There, he will collaborate with the Sisters of Charity of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and civil organizations assisting the affected population. His duties will include distributing stored food and purchasing necessary supplies.
The event will feature food, drinks, and live music. All proceeds will go directly to helping the Venezuelan people under the motto 'A small gesture, a great hope.' Collaborations have been confirmed with companies such as Coca-Cola and Bodegas Campos. For those wishing to contribute financially, the Bizum number 00208 is available, with 'Venezuela' as the concept.
The Jesuit community, to which the brotherhood belongs, has made significant efforts over the past month to address urgent needs in Venezuela. The Good Death brotherhood has a history of responding to international humanitarian crises, including their generous response during the war in Ukraine.
Concurrently, the Brotherhood of the Dolores has also launched an emergency campaign to support the Venezuelan people during this difficult time, channeling donations collected until July 19 to the NGO Delwende.
