The municipal museums and monuments of Córdoba are extending their hours this summer to allow for free night visits, offering a cultural alternative to beat the heat and rediscover the city in a new light. This initiative will be available on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, from 9:00 PM to 12:00 AM, until August 29th.
The program includes five emblematic sites: the Julio Romero de Torres Museum, the Posada del Potro, the Bullfighting Museum, the Baths of the Califal Alcázar, and the Puerta del Puente. In addition to free visits, most venues will host special activities starting at 10:00 PM, such as creative workshops, olive oil and wine tastings, and family-friendly events.
The Julio Romero de Torres Museum, located in Plaza del Potro, will allow visitors to admire works by the Cordoban painter in a different atmosphere. Meanwhile, the Posada del Potro, home to the Centro Flamenco Fosforito, will feature the ‘Al Calor del Flamenco’ series every Saturday at 10:00 PM, with free entry until capacity is reached, requiring prior ticket collection.
The Bullfighting Museum, in Plaza Maimónides, will recall Córdoba's relationship with bullfighting, honoring figures like Lagartijo and Manolete. The Baths of the Califal Alcázar invite a journey into the Umayyad past, while the Puerta del Puente will offer panoramic views of the monumental enclave next to the Mezquita-Cathedral.
The Roman Temple also joins the program with specific activities scheduled in two sessions: 9:30 PM and 10:30 PM. It is advisable to arrive in advance for visits, as room clearing usually begins 15 to 20 minutes before closing.
