These awards are open to young people from the province of Córdoba who are part of teams registered by their local entities. There are two categories: Inventions with Scratch and Makey Makey, for students in 3rd and 4th grade of primary education, and Maqueen Robot Programming, for students in 5th and 6th grade of primary education.
According to Sara Alguacil, head of the Area at the provincial institution, the competition will take place between September and November throughout the province. Participants will receive training through the Puntos Vuela (Fly Points), with the aim of fostering creativity, promoting teamwork, and developing children's talent through technological challenges.
Teams will face various challenges throughout the phases, with the support of the Local Development Agents from the Puntos Vuela, culminating in a final that will determine the winners of the Cachivache Tech Challenge Awards.
In the Inventions category, a jury of professionals will evaluate projects using the Makey Makey board and/or the Micro:bit. Teams will have a maximum of 30 minutes to present and demonstrate their prototypes.
The Programming Race category will measure the teams' time in programming a Maqueen robot to complete a circuit without sensors like line followers, demonstrating programming and execution skill and precision.
The jury will assess, among other aspects, the creativity and innovation of the projects, fun, interactivity, dynamism, aesthetics, use of materials, and clarity in explaining the idea and demonstrating functionality. Prior to the competition, practical training will be provided to agents and facilitators across the province.
The application period is from August 24 to September 11, submitted through the electronic form available at [www.dipucordoba.es/tramites](http://www.dipucordoba.es/tramites). Local entities can submit up to two teams per category, with teams composed of a minimum of three participants and up to three substitutes. Winning teams' entities will receive a trophy and technological equipment.
