The Plenary of the Provincial Council of Córdoba has provisionally approved the Plan Diputación Invierte 2026, which will mobilize 20.6 million euros for 784 actions in 76 municipalities, 4 autonomous local entities, and 10 inter-municipal consortia.

The Plenary of the Provincial Council of Córdoba, in its ordinary session for August, has given the green light to the provisional approval of the Plan Diputación Invierte 2026. This plan is endowed with 20.6 million euros and will enable the execution of 784 actions across 76 municipalities, 4 autonomous local entities, and 10 inter-municipal consortia.
The spokesperson for the Popular Party Group in the provincial institution, Antonio Martín, explained that this is one of the Provincial Council's most important plans, as it involves bringing direct investments to the towns and responding to the needs of the town councils. Martín highlighted the effort made to process the plan in a reduced timeframe and acknowledged the work of the mayors and the institution's technicians.
In the current fiscal year, the plan's investment capacity has been increased. Since 2024, spending allocated to investments has risen by 12 percentage points. Compared to 2023, the budget has grown by 26.4%, increasing from 16.3 to 20.6 million euros.
These investments will be used to improve infrastructure, strengthen municipal public services, promote sports and cultural facilities, and work on roads, water supply, lighting, heritage, tourism, and economic development, contributing to the improvement of the quality of life for the province's citizens.
The plan also includes funding for town councils to address the repair of infrastructure damaged by the storms last winter, thus responding to a need raised by many municipalities.
Following the provisional approval, the plan will be published in the Official Gazette of the Province, opening a five-day period for objections. If none are submitted, the approval will become final, and on July 31st, specific agreements will be signed for the resources to be made available as soon as possible.
Antonio Martín concluded that the plan reaffirms the commitment to municipalism, cooperation with town councils, and useful investment that reaches all municipalities, generating opportunities and improving public services.
For her part, the delegate for Social Rights, Irene Aguilera, reported on the approval of a budget modification of 220,000 euros for works at the Vergara complex in Doña Mencía, which will provide the town with quality social services facilities and a work environment suitable for its employees.
Furthermore, a partial modification of the RPT (Staffing Plan) of the Provincial Social Institute (IPBS) was approved, a long-standing demand from workers to adjust their working conditions to the new reality, which will result in the provision of quality social services.
