The Provincial Council of Córdoba, via the Provincial Institute for Economic Development (Iprodeco), is promoting bridal fashion with the 19th edition of Fuente Palmera de Boda. The event will take place from October 1st to 4th in the Plaza Real and the Open Shopping Center of Fuente Palmera. This initiative seeks not only to strengthen the local business fabric but also to project the image of the province of Córdoba as a destination of quality, tradition, innovation, and business excellence.
Félix Romero, delegate for Economic Development, Promotion, and Employment of the provincial institution, explained that the project, driven by the Business Association of the Colony of Fuente Palmera, will bring together designers and companies specializing in bridal wear, guest attire, party, and communion fashion. The event will also feature a representation of accessories, photography, event organization, experiences, and jewelry, highlighting the recent Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) for Córdoba's jewelry.
Romero recalled that the sector generates approximately 15 million euros in annual turnover and mobilizes around 300 direct jobs. He emphasized that the fair represents opportunities, payrolls, and vitality for the towns, aligning with provincial strategies such as ‘Córdoba de Moda’.
The 19th edition will include an institutional inauguration, the 10th Young Designers Contest ‘Fuente Palmera de Boda’, a novel talent competition with a training award alongside La Mariposa de Hilo, and professional fashion shows. Thus, Fuente Palmera reinforces its positioning as ‘The Town of Brides’, consolidating its brand and projecting the name of Córdoba in design, manufacturing, and creativity.
Sonia Rovira, deputy mayor of the Fuente Palmera Town Hall, highlighted that significant projects are built from rural areas, generating employment and attracting talent. She emphasized that the bridal sector has become a hallmark of the municipality, moving millions of euros and creating direct jobs, with thousands of wedding dresses sent worldwide.
Rovira mentioned Beatriz Peñalver as the guest of honor, whose career exemplifies entrepreneurship and growth without losing ties to one's origins. She noted that creating from a town does not limit opportunities.
Manuel Jesús Adame, president of the Association of Entrepreneurs of Fuente Palmera, emphasized the edition's motto, ‘the art of creating Córdoba’, as a claim of their capacity to create fashion, design, craftsmanship, businesses, opportunities, and talent, contributing to the territory's development.
A total of 33 companies will participate in the fair, covering bridal fashion, photography, video, experiences, accommodation, travel, home furnishings, accessories, jewelry, events, training, design, creativity, and gastronomy, offering a wide range of services for attendees.
Activities include the 10th Young Designers Contest, an opportunity to discover new talents and showcase the future of the sector. Additionally, a new training award alongside La Mariposa de Hilo for pattern making and tailoring is introduced, including a scholarship, an intensive course, and personalized mentoring.
