The XIV National Congress of Applied Entomology and the XX Scientific Conferences of the SEEA, taking place until October 9th at the Auditorium of the UCO Rectorate, bring together over 200 experts. The event aims to share knowledge on how these organisms can solve practical problems across various sectors.
Through plenary lectures, oral communication sessions, and poster presentations, the congress serves as a key forum for exchanging advancements in applied entomology. The objective is to foster collaborations and strengthen ties among researchers, professionals, and students.
“"Today, effective and sustainable alternatives are needed to maintain insect populations within established thresholds for each species. Therefore, it is essential for research, companies, administrations, and the productive sector to exchange knowledge."
The meeting addresses topics such as pests caused by invasive species, biological control, conservation pest control, the production of beneficial fauna, biotechnology for pest control, and the management of resistance to bioinsecticides.
The congress is organized by the Agricultural Entomology research group (AGR163) of the University of Córdoba. The inauguration was attended by María José Polo Gómez, Vice-Rector for Scientific Policy at UCO; Jordi Riudavets Muñoz, President of the Spanish Society of Applied Entomology; Mª del Carmen Campillo García, Director of ETSIAM; and Inmaculada Garrido Jurado, representative of the organizing committee. The event is sponsored by Koppert and supported by Agrobio, Biobest, Bioline Iberia, ETSIAM, IRAC España, Phytoma, and Uvat Bio.
