The Seville City Council has announced the extension of the Tussam CJ1 line route starting Monday, September 28. This measure aims to reinforce public transport in the new Isla Natura neighborhood, located in the Palmas Altas area.
The route modification will allow buses to travel along Santorini and Barbados streets, increasing the number of stops from three to five. Two new stops have been established on Santorini street and three on Barbados street, significantly improving geographical coverage and accessibility for new residents in the area.
Álvaro Pimentel, Delegate for Mobility and President of Tussam, highlighted that this action is part of the municipal government's commitment to public transport. He noted that the CJ1 line, since its inauguration on January 7, has already transported 84,660 passengers, demonstrating the effectiveness of the planning and the public's response.
Pimentel emphasized the goal of anticipating the needs of new neighborhoods and structuring the city. The CJ1 line, with its terminus at San Bernardo, will maintain its usual stops at key points such as Prado de San Sebastián, paseo Las Delicias, avenida de la Palmera, Padre García Tejero, and Isla Natura.
The route maintains an express line design, with a reduced number of stops to expedite travel between the south of the city and the center. The service will operate during its usual hours, from 6:00 AM to 11:30 PM. The terminals at San Bernardo and Prado de San Sebastián facilitate transfers with Cercanías, Metro, and other TUSSAM lines.
Additionally, at the stops on paseo Las Delicias, transfers will be possible with lines 3 and 6, and at Padre García Tejero with lines 2 and 34. To ensure route efficiency, Tussam allocates two vehicles per shift, with passage frequencies between 28 and 30 minutes, offering a daily capacity of 5,600 seats.
