The Royal Alcázar of Seville hosted the official presentation of ‘Una Pará en Gines 2026’, which reaches its majority this year. The event, organized by the Gines City Council and declared an Event of Andalusian Tourist Interest, expects to surpass last year's 80,000 visitors. This gathering, considered one of the major national events focused on nature and traditions, will offer an extensive program of free activities for all audiences.
The presentation, held near the Puerta de Marchena of the Alcázar, was attended by hundreds of people, representatives from sponsoring and collaborating entities, and well-known personalities. Juan Bueno, First Deputy Mayor of the Seville City Council, thanked the Alcázar for hosting the presentation and predicted success for the eighteenth edition.
Artist Nuria Bellido, the poster designer for La Pará 2026, explained that her artwork highlights the event's origin activity, the Championship of Yuntas and Carreteros. Meanwhile, Javier Villa, representative of ‘We Love Flamenco by La Pará’, emphasized the commitment to flamenco fashion and the quality of the creations to be showcased on the runway.
José María Villadiego, Senior Brother of the Hermandad del Rocío de Gines, recalled the support from municipal corporations and brotherhood members since the event's inception, highlighting the warm welcome offered to visitors and the tradition of Rocío from Gines. Millán Herce, Vice President of ANCCE, stated that Gines' morphological competition is one of the most important in the circuit, with approximately 50 breeding farms participating.
The Mayor of Gines, Romualdo Garrido, stressed that La Pará “was born from the people” and has become a “collective triumph.” Garrido also referred to past difficulties and thanked sponsors and collaborators for their support over these 18 years, inviting Seville to enjoy the edition.
The event concluded with musical performances by Paco Candela, Manguara, Lubricán, and Cristian Guerrero, joined by Agustín Camino.
The official inauguration will take place on Thursday, October 1st, at 8:30 PM, presented by Laura Sánchez, followed by the ‘We Love Flamenco by La Pará’ fashion show featuring 27 fashion firms and a visit to the Agro-Livestock and Commercial Fair. The day will also include an equestrian exhibition and the Purebred Spanish Horse Morphofunctional Competition.
On Friday the 2nd, the morning program will focus on school visits and workshops. In the afternoon, there will be a foal auction, the popular Mule Stone Pulling Competition, the International Equestrian Exhibitions Competition, the Andalusian Drummer Meeting, and a Ox Handling and Training show. The night will feature a performance by Paco Candela and a sack race for adults.
Saturday the 3rd will begin with further sections of the horse competition, the ‘José Luis Vélez Memorial’ Traditional Harness Competition, and the Andalusian Young Horse Working Equitation Championship. The afternoon will offer the XV Horse Gymkhana, riding classes, and a Classical Dressage Carousel. The evening will include a parade by the Special Cavalry Unit of the National Police, the equestrian show ‘Sin límites’, and the XVIII Noche Rociera with Manguara, Lubricán, and Cristian Guerrero.
Sunday the 4th, the final day, will host the ‘Antonio Posada, Titi Juana’ Spanish Championship of Yuntas and Carreteros, awards for the Purebred Spanish Horse Morphofunctional Competition, and the National Ham Cutting Competition. There will also be mule shearing demonstrations and the continuation of the Andalusian Young Horse Working Equitation Championship. The afternoon will conclude with the Pony Show Jumping Cup and the XII Obstacle Driving Test.
Throughout the four days, there will be activities for children, including mini pony riding lessons and visits to the Mundo Park Zoo animal farm. The venue will also host exhibitions on diluted coat animals and Andalusian donkeys. All information is available on the event's official website.
