Under the slogan The present is Olavide, the future is you, the campus will open its doors to new students to introduce them to the institution's key services, centers, and units. The events aim to ease the start of university life before classes officially commence.
Each morning, activities will begin at 9 AM with an institutional welcome at the Plaza de América, in front of the UPO Rectorate. Subsequently, veteran students, known as ‘lazarillos’ (guides), will lead campus tours to showcase facilities and answer questions, fostering adaptation to the university environment.
The Plaza de América will also host an information hub with stands representing UPO's main areas and services. Information will be available on practical matters, master's degrees, international relations, employability, entrepreneurship, sports, culture, volunteering, equality, and emotional support, among other resources.
In addition to guided tours, technical talks will cover essential topics such as national and international mobility, volunteering, equality, cultural outreach, support for disabilities, and scholarships. The Faculties and the Higher Polytechnic School will hold specific orientation sessions for their respective degree programs.
On September 9, students from the Higher Polytechnic School and the Faculties of Humanities, Experimental Sciences, and Social Sciences will attend their sessions. On September 10, sessions will be for students from the Faculties of Sports Science, Law, and Business Administration.
Concurrently, the UPO will welcome over 500 Incoming students participating in Erasmus and SICUE programs on September 9 and 10. The event will commence at 9 AM in the Auditorium of the Institute of Fats with a talk by the International Relations and Cooperation Area team.
These international students come from 21 different countries, including Germany, Austria, Belgium, Colombia, France, Italy, the United Kingdom, and Uruguay, among others. The organization is managed by the Vice-Rectorate for Internationalization.
