The events occurred at a residence in the municipality when Civil Guard officers responded to a report of a possible domestic violence situation. Upon arrival, they found the victim, born in 1981, with wounds consistent with a bladed weapon. Responding medical services could only confirm her death.
A man, born in 1982, was also present in the home and had sustained similar stab wounds. The primary hypothesis is that he inflicted these injuries on himself after the attack. He was transported to a hospital in Seville.
“"This is what allows protocols and protection systems to be activated."
The investigation is in its early stages, but the Civil Guard's main line of inquiry points towards a misogynistic murder. According to Deputy Government Delegate Francisco Toscano, initial checks show no record of the couple being registered in the VioGén system, nor any prior domestic violence complaints.
Toscano used the press conference to urge women experiencing violence, and those around them, to report any signs of abuse, emphasizing that this action is crucial for activating protection protocols and systems.
