The unique arid landscapes of the Canjáyar Corridor, the Desert and Plains of Tabernas, and the Gypsum Karst of Sorbas host one of Europe's most singular geological heritages. In addition to their extraordinary historical, archaeological, and hydraulic richness, they possess exceptional geodiversity, with unique elements such as the badlands of the Tabernas Desert, the Alhama de Almería meteorite, or Europe's largest gypsum karst in Sorbas.
The creation of a Geopark, promoted by the speaker among others, would represent an opportunity to value this unique territory. The project aims to offer a possibility for sustainable (geo)tourism and reinforce the link between society and its natural heritage, beyond mere international recognition.
The talk will take place on Thursday at 8:00 PM at Clasijazz, in the Divulgation Hall, organized by the Secretariat of Culture and the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and Society of the UAL, with support from FECYT, CSIC, IAA, EEZA, and Clasijazz.
