The Rural Employment Promotion Program (PFEA) is proving to be a key tool for Almería's municipalities, particularly smaller ones, by fostering employment, investment, and continuous improvement of services and infrastructure. The Provincial Council of Almería manages this program, a collaboration involving the SEPE, the Regional Government of Andalusia, and the province's town councils.
PFEA deputy, Matilde Díaz, highlighted the program's significance in "driving much-needed projects, enhancing public services, and simultaneously generating employment in our towns." The initiatives in Canjáyar, Gádor, and Pechina represent an investment exceeding €860,000 and are set to create 6,500 workdays, aiding in population retention and local economic stimulation.
The projects encompass street renovations, improvements to sanitation and water supply networks, and the refurbishment of parks, gardens, schools, squares, roads, and public buildings. The Provincial Council of Almería remains committed to ensuring resources reach all corners of the province.
In Canjáyar, an investment of over €380,000 is being allocated to enhance public spaces, streets, green areas, and municipal facilities, including the CEIP Santa Cruz school and the Market Hall, generating 2,920 workdays.
Gádor is receiving an investment of more than €240,000 for the improvement of public spaces, green areas, urban infrastructure, the CEIP Soledad Alonso Drysdale school, and the Civil Guard barracks, creating over 1,800 workdays.
In Pechina, investments exceed €230,000 to upgrade the urban environment and educational facilities, including José Salas Park and the CEIP José Díaz school, which will generate 1,820 workdays.
