The meeting took place at the Town Hall of Los Gallardos and was attended by the President of the Provincial Council, José Antonio García Alcaina, mayors and municipal technicians from the four affected municipalities, as well as deputies from the CEDA areas.
García Alcaina announced that aid proposals will be presented at the next Plenary session for municipalities to cover the expenses arising from the catastrophe. Previously, authorities visited affected areas for an initial damage assessment and to establish urgent actions needed to restore normality.
The president detailed the recovery roadmap, committing to bring the necessary aid to the Plenary for each town hall to face emergency costs. He emphasized the Provincial Council's commitment as an ally to these towns to regain normality as soon as possible, focusing on the restoration of basic services and infrastructure.
In an initial assessment, damages to road signage and safety, municipal roads, and hydraulic infrastructure were detailed. Lubrín faces issues with pipelines and street lighting; Antas is assessing damage and has been one of the least affected. Los Gallardos has suffered damage to its pipeline and trail networks, while Bédar, the most affected municipality, faces the challenge of regenerating natural spaces.
The Provincial Council has also committed to providing digital connectivity solutions to facilitate administrative procedures for town halls and residents.
