The Provincial Council of Almería has reaffirmed its investment commitment with the approval of over 3 million euros designated for the creation and improvement of infrastructure and services across 103 municipalities. These investments, greenlit in the September Governing Board meeting, will focus on key projects for Vera and Benahadux, as well as road enhancements in Níjar and Albox.
The project with the largest budgetary allocation is the urbanization of a sports complex in Vera, located on Avenida del Salar. With a tender budget of 1,704,000 euros, this first phase will concentrate on constructing the parking area and providing essential services for the future facilities.
In Benahadux, funds will be directed towards the comprehensive renovation of the former CEIP Padre Manjón school to transform it into the new Municipal School of Music and Dance. Situated at Calle Santa María, nº 41, the future municipal facility, spanning 954 m2 across two floors, will be dedicated to teaching.
Additionally, the Governing Board has approved two road improvement projects. One involves the rehabilitation of the pavement on the CP AL-3111, connecting the A-7 to Campohermoso via San Isidro, with an investment of 180,000 euros. The second project, with an investment of 280,000 euros, will focus on remodeling an intersection on the CP AL – 7100, at the crossing of Llano de los Olleres in Albox.
The president of the Provincial Council of Almería, José Antonio García Alcaina, emphasized that these actions aim to "continue improving, modernizing, and creating services, infrastructure, and opportunities in all towns to ensure well-being in every corner of the province".
García Alcaina also highlighted the role of the Provincial Plans as a "great investment and transformative tool" to "equalize opportunities among the people of Almería, regardless of where they live," reaffirming the Council's commitment to "structuring the territory and continuing to build, town by town, an Almería with more services, better connectivity, and a brighter future for all citizens".
