The program ‘Guadix under the stars’, promoted by the Culture Department of the Guadix City Council, reaches its end this summer with a new event dedicated to astronomy. The final session will take place on August 20th, at 10:30 PM, at the Hernán Valle Hermitage, an annex of the municipality.
The activity, led by Astro Natura, a company specializing in astronomical outreach, will allow attendees to identify constellations, stars, and planets. Subsequently, direct observation through telescopes will be conducted, one of the most anticipated moments of the evening.
The objective of ‘Guadix under the stars’ has been to bring astronomy to the municipality's annexes, taking advantage of the quality of its night skies, far from light pollution. The session in Hernán Valle will be the last opportunity this month, following activities held in Paulenca and Belerda.
Participation in this activity is free until full capacity is reached. Attendees are advised to come prepared for an outdoor experience, suggesting bringing hammocks, mats, or blankets, as well as comfortable clothing and a light warm layer.
This initiative is part of the Culture Department's strategy to decentralize summer programming and bring cultural and scientific outreach activities to different parts of the Guadix municipal area.
