An ambulance driver was the victim of a brutal assault in Guadix this past Wednesday. The Emergency Health Technician suffered severe injuries to his face and skull while en route to a service call in his work vehicle.
The Federation of Services to Citizenship (FSC) of CCOO Granada has condemned the incident, which occurred in the La Cañada de Gracia neighborhood. According to the union, a group of individuals stopped the vehicle and attacked the driver, forcing him to go to the Guadix health center, where he required stitches.
The technician was on his way to pick up a minor to take her to the Materno Infantil Hospital in Malaga. En route, he found the street blocked by several individuals who prevented him from passing. After turning back and heading to the patient's home, the girl's father went to the location of the aggressors to speak with them, while the driver remained inside the vehicle.
The victim had to go to the Guadix health center where he even needed stitches.
Municipal sources reported that the Local Police of Guadix arrived at the scene, opened proceedings, and informed the Civil Guard. CCOO Granada has expressed its support for the assaulted worker and its rejection of any form of violence.
