The National Organization of Spanish Blind People (ONCE) will issue 5.5 million lottery tickets to commemorate the Royal Fair of Écija, which takes place between September 15th and 20th. The draw will be held on Sunday, September 20th.
The ticket's image features a fair's facade with a fan in the foreground, under the slogan ‘Real Feria de Écija’. It highlights its origin in 1274, when Alfonso X The Wise granted the right to hold a fair of commercial and livestock nature, and the corporate image of the City Council of Écija.
The ONCE delegate for Andalusia, Ceuta, and Melilla, Cristóbal Martínez, stated that the fair is a “legacy passed down from generation to generation, a meeting space, a heritage of tradition, which has also become a driver of economic, social, and cultural activity for Écija,” calling it one of the most emblematic celebrations in Andalusia.
The mayor of Écija, Silvia Heredia, expressed gratitude for the ONCE's gesture, highlighting the organization's work and the pride in having the fair as the protagonist of a promotion that will carry the city's name throughout Spain.
The ticket was presented at the Palacio de Benamejí, home of the Écija Historical Museum, by ONCE delegate Cristóbal Martínez, deputy delegate María Martínez, and ONCE director in Écija, Rosario de las Mercedes López, in the presence of Mayor Silvia Heredia and the delegate for Major Festivals, Raquel Miranda.
The ONCE's Weekend Sueldazo offers a main prize of 300,000 euros, plus 5,000 euros per month for 20 years to one ticket, in addition to other prizes.
