On the night of Sunday, July 19, Baza's Plaza Mayor hosted over 2,000 people who came to watch the grand final of the 2026 World Cup. The turnout surpassed that of the semi-final against France, as reported by the Baza City Council.
Young and old alike enjoyed the historic victory of the Spanish national team against Argentina, a celebration that continued through the city streets. Many attendees are keeping the small flags and fans distributed during the match as cherished souvenirs.
“"From the Baza City Council, we want to congratulate the members of the Spanish football team, both players and staff. Congratulations also to the Spanish people for that second star that will adorn the jersey of the team that unites us all."
The municipal institution expressed gratitude for sharing a wonderful, intense, and happily concluded night, which will be remembered by everyone.
