The initiative, carried out in collaboration with the City Council and the participation of stallholders, hospitality businesses, and collection services, has seen a considerable increase in recycling volumes. Over 50 bins were distributed, and a door-to-door collection was implemented from 06:00 AM, along with prior information to professionals to facilitate container separation.
The hospitality sector plays a crucial role in these campaigns, accounting for approximately half of glass container consumption. Its recovery allows the material to be reintroduced into the production process as cullet, reducing the consumption of raw materials, energy, and CO₂ emissions.
Arcgisa and Ecovidrio express gratitude for the involvement of the municipalities, stallholders, hospitality professionals, and workers. They emphasize that this joint commitment advances towards a more sustainable model, where selective collection and recycling minimize environmental impact and promote more responsible celebrations respectful of the surroundings.
