The facilities of the Nuevo Mirador stadium were found on Monday morning with various offensive graffiti directed at Algeciras CF and references to Real Balompédica Linense. Among the messages were slogans such as "Refundados España de Tánger", "Balona Fans Hooligan", "Fuck ACF", and "Siempre RBL".
Algeciras CF has publicly condemned the acts and announced the initiation of appropriate legal proceedings to identify those responsible. "Football is about respect. Vandalism has no place here," stated the club, emphasizing its rejection of such actions.
Real Balompédica Linense also expressed its condemnation on social media, stressing that sporting rivalry should remain within the playing field and be based on healthy competition and respect.
Fan groups such as the Peña Cultural La Bufanda Algecirista Martín Gil and the association Siglo Rojiblanco have shown their support for Algeciras CF, condemning the vandalism and expressing hope that the perpetrators will be identified and punished. They emphasized that such behavior does not represent the fan bases.
This is not the first time the Nuevo Mirador has been the scene of similar acts. On December 7, 2022, the stadium was found with vandalistic graffiti before a match between the two teams, which also led to condemnations and cleanup efforts by the Algeciras City Council and the club.
