The event, which aims to raise awareness, empathy, and aid for cancer patients, seeks to raise funds to support Apron's work. The day will begin at 6 PM and will include complementary activities such as zumba, music, and entertainment.
The Councilor for Sports, Alejandro Rodríguez, highlighted the inclusive nature of the event and encouraged citizens to participate in the five-kilometer race, emphasizing its solidarity aspect. He thanked the participating clubs and Alcaidesa Marina for providing their facilities.
The president of Apron, Estefanía Álvarez, emphasized the institutional and citizen collaboration that makes this initiative possible, particularly thanking the City Council, Alcaidesa Marina, the Port Authority of Bahía de Algeciras, the Provincial Council of Cádiz, and local sports clubs.
Registrations, which remain open until Friday, August 22, at dorsalchip.es, have no participant limit and have already exceeded 700. The goal is to surpass last year's 1,226 registered participants. T-shirt collection will take place on Thursday the 27th at the Gran Sur gallery and on the day of the race at Alcaidesa Marina.
Ana Morales, from Alcaidesa Marina, highlighted the event's established presence in the marina's calendar and the solidary response from the local population. Representatives from the MTB Los Enmonaos Cycling Club and the Sierra Carbonera Sports Club will be responsible for escorting and closing the race.
