The program kicks off this Saturday, July 18, at 6:30 PM in the Jardines Saccone with the official presentation of the music bands and groups participating in the parade, who will offer a street performance. At 8:00 PM, the Grand Announcing Parade will begin, touring Avenida de España, Plaza de la Constitución, and Avenida del Ejército to the entrance of the fairgrounds. The parade will feature artistic floats, music bands, charangas, and local groups, including a first section without noise to accommodate individuals with special acoustic sensitivity.
Following the parade, the official lighting of the fairgrounds will take place, along with the inauguration of the Caseta Municipal by the mayor, Juan Franco, and the Young Queen of the Festivities, Paula Sánchez Martínez. The event will conclude with the presentation of the orchestras that will entertain the municipal space.
On Sunday, July 19, the festivities will move to the city center with the celebration of Domingo Rociero. Activities will start at 9:30 AM with a Rociero dawn parade through the central streets. At 11:00 AM, the Jardines Saccone will host the Solemn Rociero Mass, accompanied by the musical performance of the linense brotherhood's choir. From 1:00 PM, the fairgrounds will host the traditional horse parade, and the evening, starting at 10:30 PM, will be dedicated to dancing with orchestras in the Caseta Municipal until closing.
Monday, July 20, marks the commemoration of the 156th anniversary of the founding of La Línea de la Concepción, designated as a local holiday. The institutional program will open at 12:00 PM with an extraordinary Plenary session, where journalist Rubén García Perea will deliver the official speech, followed by the raising of the city's flag in the Plaza de la Constitución.
The day also coincides with the traditional ‘Día de la japonesa’, where local bakeries craft this sweet treat. As in previous years, the mayor and the councilors for Festivities and Commerce, Mercedes Atanet and Alfonso Lozano, will visit the city's pastry shops. This year, they will be joined by Ivan Pacheco Seliva, author of the novel ‘Almíbar’, in which the typical linense sweet plays a prominent role. Visits include pastry shops Okay, Moka, and cafeteria Modelo.
Monday, July 20, will also feature the first 'Day without noise' at the fair, with attractions operating without music between 7:00 PM and 12:00 AM. Additionally, a children's party with games and animations, including the musical show ‘Show Guerreras del K-POP’, will take place in the Caseta Municipal starting at 6:00 PM.
The bullring El Arenal will host a bullfight at 7:30 PM, featuring bulls from the Gregorio Garzón Montenegro ranch, for bullfighters Morante de la Puebla, Juan Ortega, and Pablo Aguado.
Finally, the Caseta Municipal will close the events of this initial festive block at 1:00 AM with a performance by the renowned sevillanas group, Requiebros.
