During a campaign event in Los Barrios, local and provincial PSOE representatives criticized the lack of progress on pending projects and infrastructure in the region. Socialist leaders pointed out that the Andalusian Government has reiterated promises in previous campaigns without subsequent materialization.
“"The residents of Campo de Gibraltar spend their lives between the queue at the Border and waiting lists."
A party spokesperson called for the mobilization of progressive voters, urging them to concentrate their vote on the regional candidacy. A warning was also issued that independent parties might not gain representation if they do not reach the five percent provincial vote threshold.
The socialist party contrasted the management of the Central Government, highlighting state investments in the Campo de Gibraltar in areas such as the integrated water cycle, waste management, and road infrastructure, including planned actions for the Algeciras bypass and the third lane towards San Roque.
Regarding public services, the state of the Dependency Law in Los Barrios was criticized, where waiting times exceed 600 days. Explanations were also requested from the Junta de Andalucía regarding cancer screenings and the potential impact on the population.
In education, it was reported that the project for the future La Dehesa Institute remains unexecuted, despite announcements made over several years. A municipal socialist spokesperson stated that the land designated for this educational infrastructure has remained unchanged since the beginning of the regional legislature. Delays in diagnostic tests within the Andalusian public health system were also mentioned, citing a case where a patient received the results of a test performed in 2021 in 2026.
