The flamenco festival that began in a small corner of Algeciras, the IX Festival Flamenco del Campo de Gibraltar, is returning to the San Isidro plaza, the very place where it all started almost a decade ago. This edition promises to thrill the entire Campo de Gibraltar region, going back to its original stage and reviving the spirit of its early editions.
After touring different municipalities in the region in recent years, the festival is moving back to the heart of the San Isidro neighborhood, transforming the plaza into a grand open-air flamenco stage. A primary objective of the event continues to be promoting local artists from the Campo de Gibraltar who are beginning to make a name for themselves both within and beyond Andalusia.
This year's lineup features singer Manuela Montoya "La Negra", accompanied on guitar by Manuel Peralta, and the singer from Linense, Alonso Núñez "Curri", also with Peralta. Dance will be presented by Luis Santiago "Elía", with guitar accompaniment from Fran de Algeciras and vocals from José Tarasco and Manuel Moneo.
The organization highlighted that the average age of the artists is around 30 years old, reflecting the excellent moment experienced by the flamenco talent pool in the Campo de Gibraltar.
