Mayor Juan Franco, accompanied by the Deputy Mayor for Social Affairs, Zuleica Molina, stated that while agreeing on the need for improved dependency funding in Andalusia, the resolution of this labor conflict does not fall under the La Línea Town Hall's purview but within collective bargaining.
A meeting was held with the Asansull Home Help Service Works Committee and the Comisiones Obreras union section, which UGT declined to attend. The municipal objective is to support the workers, but the demands from UGT for an extraordinary third payment and a reduction of the working week from 38.5 to 35 hours are considered unfeasible, representing a cost exceeding 3,235,000 euros for municipal coffers.
The mayor recalled an existing Andalusian agreement until 2027, negotiated by major unions including UGT, which includes proposals for reduced hours and salary increases. A report from the Town Hall's Vice-Secretariat confirms that these matters should be addressed through collective bargaining.
Juan Franco shares concerns about dependency funding and supports the creation of the Sustainable Funding Forum proposed by Asansull, which the Town Hall will join to jointly request sufficient funding from the Regional Government and the National Government.
Motions supporting the Home Help Service were presented in the July plenary session, and solutions will be sought at the Mancomunidad or Provincial Council level. The mayor categorically denied social media allegations regarding the use of regional funds, presenting intervention data.
Zuleica Molina added that the municipality complies with the Andalusian agreement and cannot increase the allocated economic provisions.
