The initiative aims to bring the linguistic and cultural richness of Europe closer to citizens, especially the educational community, by fostering language learning and knowledge of the opportunities offered by the European Union.
The program will begin on September 25 at the Kursaal Center in Algeciras, and will continue at the Official Language Schools of San Roque and Algeciras. Activities will include information stands, awareness sessions, and the interactive dynamic “Linguistic Detectives”.
The European Day of Languages, celebrated annually on September 26 since 2001, aims to raise awareness about the importance of lifelong language learning and promote European linguistic and cultural diversity.
Europe Direct will provide information on resources and tools from European institutions, as well as on education, training, language learning, and European mobility, highlighting the role of languages in a cohesive and inclusive Europe.
The activities will showcase the work of Europe Direct Campo de Gibraltar as an official information point for the European Union.
The first event will be on Wednesday, September 25, at the Kursaal Center in Algeciras (11:45 AM - 1:30 PM). On Monday, September 29, the program continues at the Official Language School of San Roque (stand opens at 5:00 PM, activities from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM). The final event will be on Wednesday, October 7, at the Official Language School of Algeciras (stand from 5:00 PM, activities from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM).
