The initiative, aimed at fostering economic activity, entrepreneurship, and self-employment in the municipality, is divided into two compatible aid lines, each with a budget of €25,000.
The first line focuses on business creation, offering aid of up to €1,000 per company. The second line will subsidize the rental of commercial spaces for economic activities, providing up to €125 per month for twelve months, totaling a maximum aid of €1,500 per company.
The Councilor for Economic Development, Valeriano Rosales, explained that through this initiative, the City Council aims to support entrepreneurs and consolidate Montilla's entrepreneurial spirit. These grants are part of measures to promote economic activity and retain population.
In the previous call, 100% of the applications that met the requirements benefited from this aid, and the council aims to streamline the process this year.
Line 1 is aimed at newly created businesses in Montilla whose establishment and effective start of activity occurred between September 1st, 2025, and August 31st, 2026. A maximum of 25 grants are planned, awarded in order of application registration.
Line 2 aims to cover part of the rental costs for commercial spaces in Montilla for microenterprises with fiscal domicile in the municipality. The rental contract must also have commenced between September 1st, 2025, and August 31st, 2026. Applications will be evaluated based on a scoring system that prioritizes newly created businesses.
General requirements include being a microenterprise (up to ten employees, with a business volume and balance sheet equal to or less than two million euros), and being up-to-date with tax obligations, Social Security, and the Montilla City Council.
Beneficiaries must maintain the conditions for receiving aid for a period of twelve months. 70% of the subsidy will be paid initially, with the remaining 30% disbursed after justification of compliance during that period.
The application period will be open from September 1st to 10th, 2026, exclusively electronically through the Electronic Registry of the Montilla City Council.
