The animals were discovered thanks to a citizen's alert who heard noises coming from inside the container. Following the call, officers and cleaning staff acted quickly to free the birds.
According to information shared by the Local Police on their social media, the visible injuries on the roosters and the location where they were found suggest that both had recently participated in one or more fights.
“"According to the place where they appeared and the type of injuries the animals present at first sight, everything indicates that both have recently participated in one or more fights."
The Civil Guard has initiated an investigation to clarify the events, based on the information provided by the Local Police. They have also contacted the regional agricultural offices, given their role in animal health.
While the responsible authority for the roosters is being determined, the Headquarters, following instructions from the Arahal City Council, has requested a veterinarian to assess the health condition of the rescued birds.
