The municipal company Autobuses de Córdoba, S.A. (Aucorsa) has announced a plan to optimize the connectivity of the Las Quemadas industrial park with the rest of the city. Starting next September, passengers on routes E, RB, and QM will benefit from the activation of new bus stops.
Specifically, Line E will gain two new access points on Simón Carpintero street, near Andrés Barrera, one for each direction of travel. The Line RB, connecting the urban center with Rabanales, will also make a stop on Simón Carpintero on its return journey. Meanwhile, Line QM will add three extra stops along its route through the park, located on Simón Carpintero, Gonzalo Antonio Serrano, and Andrés Barrera streets.
The new stop on Simón Carpintero will also serve as the starting point for Line QM services departing from the industrial park towards La Victoria. The president of Aucorsa and delegate for Mobility at the City Council of Córdoba, Bernardo Jordano, emphasized that the goal is to facilitate the daily commutes of the thousands of workers who travel to this industrial area.
Jordano expressed confidence that this initiative will help reduce the use of private vehicles for commuting, potentially decreasing traffic intensity, especially during peak hours. The councilor highlighted the environmental benefits, such as improved air quality, and economic advantages, as the bus is a more affordable option than a car.
The installation of signage for the new stops in Las Quemadas is expected to begin in the coming weeks. Aucorsa will continuously monitor bus occupancy to track demand and the utilization of these new access points by residents.
