The mayor of Jerez, María José García-Pelayo, attended the inauguration of ‘INNOVA 2026–The Fashion Retail Experience’ at El Alcázar this Saturday. The event, organized by the City Council and ABM Eventos, aims to support and promote new fashion talents and emerging designers. The initiative includes a runway show with new creators, talks on design and business, and masterclasses.
The mayor emphasized the municipal commitment to the textile industry and designers' talent, stating that the event “highlights fashion while promoting the city's cultural, tourist, and media presence, boosting a sector as a symbol of creativity, progress, and cultural expression, and also generating a positive impact on the local economy.” For her part, the director of ABM Eventos, Ana Belén Morillo, noted that Innova seeks to create business opportunities and dialogue for those starting in the sector, showcasing the talent of Andalusia and, especially, Jerez.
As part of this commitment, working meetings have already been held with Ana Belén Morillo, director of the Pasarela Flamenca de Jerez, to explore potential municipal collaborations for the event's 20th edition, scheduled from February 4 to 7, 2027.
The opening day featured a round table with participants including Elisa Cortés, Mariquilla Trasquilá, Ainhoa Rosado, Nicolás Villar, Margarita Muñoz, and Antonio Carpio. This was followed by a collective fashion show by Mariquita Trasquilá and Margarita Muñoz. Workshops on identity and style led by Cristina Sánchez Pardo were also held, along with collective fashion shows showcasing creations by David Rodríguez, David Panal, Lomont, Pilar Villar, Belulah, Ismael Domínguez, and Iván Campaña.
Sunday's program will begin at 11:00 AM with a workshop by fashion photographer Jesús Amarillo titled ‘Anatomy of a Fashion Editorial’. At 12:00 PM, the 'I South Talent' Young Designers Competition will take place, followed by a menswear showcase by the collective Patria y Carpio Menswear at 1:00 PM.
